In a heartfelt gesture, Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappé extended his congratulations to former club Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) following their emphatic 5–0 victory over Inter Milan in the 2025 UEFA Champions League final. This win marked PSG’s first-ever Champions League title, a milestone that eluded them during Mbappé’s seven-season tenure with the club.
Shortly after the final whistle at Munich’s Allianz Arena, Mbappé took to Instagram to share his sentiments, writing:
“The big day has finally arrived. Victory—and in the style of an entire club. Congratulations @psg.”
Mbappé’s message resonated with fans and former teammates, highlighting the strong bond he maintains with the Parisian club. During his time at PSG, Mbappé became the club’s all-time leading scorer, netting 256 goals in 308 appearances and securing multiple domestic titles. However, the coveted Champions League trophy remained out of reach until this season.
PSG’s journey to European glory was marked by resilience and determination. After finishing 15th in the league phase, they navigated through the knockout rounds with notable victories over Brest, Liverpool, Aston Villa, and Arsenal. The final saw standout performances from Désiré Doué, who scored twice, along with goals from Achraf Hakimi, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, and Senny Mayulu.
Manager Luis Enrique, who previously won the Champions League with Barcelona in 2015, praised his team’s collective effort and paid tribute to his late daughter, Xana, dedicating the victory to her memory.
Mbappé’s current club, Real Madrid, faced a challenging season, exiting the Champions League in the quarter-finals after a 5–1 aggregate defeat to Arsenal. Despite this, Mbappé showcased his prowess by scoring 42 goals in 55 appearances across all competitions.
The French forward’s congratulatory message underscores the mutual respect and enduring connection between Mbappé and PSG, as the club celebrates a historic achievement in European football.
